T-Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH (T-Systems MMS) is a German IT service and IT consulting firm headquartered in Dresden. The company provides consulting and software development services to medium and large organizations and has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Dresden, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Munich, Leipzig and Jena. The company is part of Deutsche Telekom AG.

About the project

Deutsche Telekom used to have an old portfolio management system, based on SharePoint 2013 and unique developments. As a global company strategy to move to the cloud platform, the project aimed to reach higher functionality and a modern user interface, based on Microsoft cloud technology.

Initial system requirement

To support progress and change of Telekom portfolio.
To handle different portfolio elements’ lifecycles.
To provide a complex approval and voting workflow.
To migrate all data from the old system.

Solution

The application architecture contains elements from Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Power Platform (model-driven app, canvas app and cloud flow) and unique development both on the front-end (JavaScript) and back-end (plug-in, azure function). With the proposed back-end structure the application can manage the complete portfolio of Deutsche Telekom, including clusters, modules, versions, related documents protected by a complex security approach. The approval of these elements is supported by a comprehensive workflow with an intuitive GUI.
